Jeni Andries grew up in Seattle, and this series in particular is inspired by the surrounding Cascades and the San Juan Islands. Many years of experience in the world of floral design also informs Jeni's artistic sensibilities and her eye for beautiful colour palettes, whether expressed through the medium of paint or flowers.
Now residing in Vancouver, Jeni works within the seasons. She spends the local growing months from late spring to early autumn immersed in flowers, and coaxes quiet inspiration onto the canvas in the winter months, when nature goes dormant.
